The 2026 World Judo Championships Veterans begin in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 20 September and run until 24 September.
As of 19 September, the International Judo Federation's direct event page listed 65 countries and regions and 1,347 competitors, comprising 1,166 men and 181 women. These are rolling registration numbers, not a final field.
On the current list, the largest delegation is France with 212, followed by Georgia with 85, Kazakhstan with 81, the Russian Federation with 79, Brazil with 74, Germany with 71 and Italy with 60.
The veterans championships are divided by age group, allowing judoka of different ages to keep competing internationally. The programme also includes kata categories, with some placings decided on the day.
