Macau will host two Asian youth judo events in late July. The Asian Cadet event is scheduled for 25 July, followed by the Asian Junior competition on 26 July.

IJF competition pages list 122 competitors from 13 countries and regions for the cadet event, while the junior event has 182 competitors from 15 countries and regions listed at the time of publication.

With youth competitions in Hong Kong, China and Macau running close together, the regional calendar gives young judoka a compact stretch of international experience. For coaches, it is also a useful chance to see how neighbouring programmes are developing.
