The Hong Kong Asian Cadet and Junior Cups concluded after two days of competition on 18 and 19 July. Hong Kong, China judoka won three bronze medals at home, together with one fifth-place and two seventh-place finishes.
18 July: Hong Kong Asian Cadet Cup
YIP Pak Yin won bronze in men’s -50 kg and KWAN Chui Yi took bronze in women’s -63 kg. TSE Tsz Wai finished seventh in women’s -48 kg, while LIN Hau placed seventh in men’s -66 kg.
With two bronze medals and two seventh-place finishes, Hong Kong, China ranked eighth on the cadet medal table.
19 July: Hong Kong Junior Asian Cup
HO Sum Yin won bronze in women’s -52 kg, while KHAN Isabel Sharan Loo E finished fifth in women’s -48 kg.
Hong Kong, China placed joint ninth on the junior medal table with one bronze medal and one fifth-place finish.
Across the two home competitions, Hong Kong, China finished with three bronze medals, giving local supporters a close view of the progress being made by its cadet and junior judoka.
