Kokushikan University beat Meiji University 2-0 in the men's final of the All Japan Student Judo Weight-Class Team Championship, held at the Baycom General Gymnasium in Amagasaki on 24 and 25 October.
It was Kokushikan's first title in 10 years and their fifth overall. Meiji had won the open-weight All Japan Student Championship in June and missed the chance of a two-title season.
In the women's final, International Pacific University and Ryukoku University finished level at 2-2, and IPU took the title on a content decision. It was IPU's second consecutive title and their seventh overall.
The outstanding player awards went to MAEDA Rin and YAMASHITA Ruri, with ARAKAWA Kiyoka as captain. The men's competition was the 28th edition, the women's the 18th, both in the seven-member team format.
