The 2026 Maribor Cadet European Cup runs on 24 and 25 October at Lukna Hall, two days of international competition for the cadet circuit in Slovenia.

The city has a long record of staging international judo. Maribor hosted the Senior European Championships in 2002 at Tabor Hall, where Slovenia’s Petra Nareks and Rasa Sraka won bronze in the individual competition before the team events closed the championships.

Lukna Hall staged the Junior European Championships in September 2017, when Klara Apotekar won the under-78 kg title, and returned to the international calendar for the 2023 European Youth Olympic Festival, where Nika Tomc took under-57 kg gold and Leila Mazouzi bronze at under-63 kg. Both have since become European junior champions.

Tabor Hall hosted the Junior European Cup last year, with silver for Gal Blazic and bronze for Urh Ogrizek, Haya Veinhandl Obaid and Gabriel Lipic.

“The city has proven an excellent host, and participant feedback has been very positive,” said Aljaz Sedej, general secretary of the Slovenian Judo Federation. “We are working hard to deliver another excellent competition this year.”
