The 2026 Lima Grand Prix concluded on 16 August in Peru, with Brazil finishing the tournament on top of the medal table after a strong three days at the Videna sports complex.
Brazil closed with five gold, one silver and five bronze medals. Italy followed with two gold, two silver and four bronze, the Republic of Moldova took two gold, two silver and one bronze, and Germany claimed two gold and one bronze.
The competition drew the 296 athletes from 50 nations that the International Judo Federation had confirmed, and across the three days established Lima as one of the most competitive stops on the second half of the 2026 World Judo Tour.
On the final day, Mathilda Sophie Niemeyer of Germany won the women's under-78 kg title, and Olympic champion Beatriz Souza of Brazil stepped back into the spotlight in the women's over-78 kg event. In the men's events, Rafael Macedo of Brazil took the under-90 kg crown, Gennaro Pirelli of Italy won the under-100 kg contest, and Giannis Antoniou of Cyprus claimed the over-100 kg gold.
Antoniou's victory marked Cyprus's first ever gold medal on the World Judo Tour. Peru, meanwhile, delivered its best showing at a World Judo Tour event, a result the IJF highlighted as part of a broader season of development.
