The European Judo Union Executive Committee met in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 11 and 12 August to review the next stage of European judo development and formally approve the 2027 EJU calendar.

One of the most significant developments is the integration of the Mixed Team European Championships into the European Games as a two-day event for the first time.

Adapted judo was also a central topic. The EJU is developing its Adapted Judo Vision 2030, while the upcoming Lausanne Grand Slam is set to feature athletes with impairments on the same tatami as World Judo Tour athletes for the first time.

The 2027 calendar will also include new destinations across the European circuit, while eight European referees have been selected for the 2026 World Judo Championships in Baku.
