The IBSA Judo Grand Prix São Paulo 2026 is being held from 11 to 13 July at the Brazil Paralympic Center in São Paulo. The International Judo Federation has described the event as the first opportunity for athletes to collect ranking points on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.

The opening two days feature the IBSA Judo Grand Prix, followed by the IBSA American and Oceania Championships on the third day. For athletes, São Paulo is not simply another international event. It is one of the first chances in the new Paralympic cycle to build ranking momentum toward LA28.

Para judo is a Paralympic discipline for athletes with visual impairments. Competitors are placed into sport classes according to the nature and extent of their visual impairment, supporting fair competition while preserving the technical and tactical demands of judo.

The International Blind Sports Federation and the International Judo Federation continue to work together to develop para judo internationally. On the opening day in São Paulo, host nation Brazil made a strong start with two gold medals and several additional podium finishes. The first ranking points of the new cycle are now in play.
