The Kinshuki Judo Clinic will take place in Fukuoka from 22 to 24 July, alongside one of Japan’s best-known high-school judo tournament periods. The programme will bring leading Japanese judoka into five teaching sessions for younger athletes.

The clinic is scheduled at Fukuoka City General Gymnasium, also known as Teruha Sekisui House Arena. Each session will run for 90 minutes and is planned for around 100 participants. It is free of charge.

The announced instructors include Hiroyuki Akimoto, Takeshi Ojitani, Tsukasa Yoshida and Shori Hamada. The intended participants are high-school teams entered in the competition and junior-high students who train regularly in judo.

The value of a programme like this is not just the chance to see elite athletes. A high-school tournament can become an education setting as well: younger judoka can watch, ask questions and take away technical details from people who have performed at the highest level.
