The German Judo Federation's Tag des Judo 2026: Judo trifft Schule begins on 28 October — Jigoro Kano's birthday — and runs until 13 November, a 17-day window for judo in schools.

Seventeen days in schools

Clubs work with schools to bring judo directly into the school day, letting children and teenagers try the sport, collect new movement experiences and meet the values judo emphasises. The federation says the campaign runs nationwide under the Judo trifft Schule banner.

The modules on offer

Clubs and schools can draw on modules including "setting boundaries and respecting boundaries", "learning judo through play", "confidence in conflict situations" and "judo values and social learning". Judo-sumo contests and Judofitness (Taiso) can also form part of an activity.

The focus is on movement, respect, confidence, fairness and social interaction — education and grassroots promotion rather than competition.
