In the men’s +100kg category, Korea’s Kim Minjong claimed the first Grand Slam gold medal of his career in Ulaanbaatar.

According to IJF reporting, Kim defeated top seed and reigning world champion Inal Tasoev in the semi-final, then beat Georgia’s Irakli Demetrashvili in the final to complete a major heavyweight victory.

The result is an important marker for Korean heavyweight judo in the new cycle, adding further tension to the +100kg landscape on the road toward LA28.
