All seven Japanese women reached the podium at the 2026 Czech Junior International Judo Tournament in Prague on 4 and 5 July. The team finished with three gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

Tomoka Inoue and Sara Nagasato placed first and second in the women’s +78 kg category. Misuzu Katsumata and Kokoro Otawa won silver and gold in -78 kg. Chiharu Morino took bronze in -70 kg, Toa Orimo won -63 kg, and Miyu Wakabayashi earned bronze in -48 kg.

With every athlete making the podium, the result highlights the depth of Japan's junior women’s programme. For athletes moving toward senior competition, events such as Prague also provide valuable international experience.
