The Kocaeli Judo Hopes Tournament 2026 was held in Türkiye on 11 and 12 July, bringing together the under-14 and under-16 age groups. Host nation Türkiye dominated the final medal table with 22 gold, 26 silver and 40 bronze medals.
Georgia won seven titles and Kazakhstan collected five gold medals. Bulgaria also secured one championship, making it one of only four nations to win gold during the tournament.
The tournament featured 463 young judoka from 15 countries. Türkiye entered the largest delegation with 218 athletes, while Bulgaria was represented by 24 competitors. The size of the field gave young athletes an opportunity to experience different styles, contest rhythms and international competition conditions.
The Judo Hopes circuit is intended to offer international experience before athletes progress to the established cadet and junior tours. For nations such as Georgia, Kazakhstan and Bulgaria, competitions of this kind are an important part of developing the next generation.
